This 2008 Dodge Mr. Norm’s GSS Super Challenger is a truly singular vehicle. The Super Challenger retains a retro-inspired exterior reminiscent of the original 1970 Dodge Challenger, complete with Mr. Norm’s signature GSS (Grand Spaulding Sport) hood, rear stripes with GSS badging, fender emblems, and hood pins. Inside, the theme continues with a handcrafted Mr. Norm’s GSS leather interior in Dark Slate Gray, a pistol-grip shifter, GSS carpet mats, and an engraved serial-number plate confirming its one-of-one identity.

What truly sets this car apart is its mechanical transformation. Starting with a 6.1-liter Hemi V8, Mr. Norm’s Garage rebuilt the engine with forged rods and pistons, ported heads, a Hemi camshaft, 6.1 Hemi headers, an 800-horsepower fuel system, meth injection, a cat-back dual exhaust, and Mr. Norm’s signature Kenne Bell 2.8L liquid-cooled supercharger and intercooler. Supported by a WOT box, an HP2 transmission, and a 1,000-horsepower driveshaft, the drivetrain is a complete re-engineering of the original concept. A Nitrous Oxide System adds further capability, underscoring this prototype’s role as a supercar-grade experiment.

Originally rated at 425 horsepower, this Super Challenger was engineered to significantly increase performance. The result is a CARB-certified 650 horsepower on 91-octane fuel. This level of drivability was far beyond anything available from Dodge at the time. A complete overhaul of independent front and rear coilover suspension, Brembo brakes, and Mr. Norm’s “Kustom” forged wheels wrapped in Pirelli Scorpion Assimetrico tires ensure that the handling and stability matches the car’s power. This exact vehicle was used by Kenne Bell to validate its Twin Screw Supercharger Program for GEN III Hemi engines.

Serial Number 01 quickly became a star. It debuted at the 2008 SEMA Show, then spent 2009 touring the United States. Dodge selected it for display at major automotive events, including auto shows in Denver, San Diego, and Chicago. Following its show circuit, this GSS Super Challenger returned to work as the official test platform for Mr. Norm’s HP2 performance upgrades. The HP2 package elevated its output to 725 horsepower, making this the only street-legal production muscle car guaranteed to run a 10-second elapsed time. It was even delivered with an authentic 10-second time slip.
