2019 Dodge Challenger Hellcat Redeye

Following the discontinuation of the 840-horsepower SRT Demon in 2018, Dodge developed a brand new line of Challenger models to fill the void. The company doubled down on displacement, supercharging, and spectacle with a suite of vehicles that celebrate the rebellious spirit of classic American muscle. Among these new high performance cars was the 2019 Hellcat Redeye, a significantly enhanced iteration of the already potent SRT Hellcat. This car combines classic design cues rooted in the legendary 1970 Challenger with supercar-level performance.

This exceptional model remains in remarkably preserved condition. Under its distinctive twin-snorkel hood is a supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI V-8, derived directly from the engine developed for the limited-production Demon. While utilizing a slightly smaller hood intake system than its drag-strip-focused sibling, the Redeye delivers an astounding 797 horsepower and 707 lb-ft of torque, representing an increase of 90 horsepower and 11 lb-ft over the standard Hellcat.

To manage this extraordinary output, Dodge equipped the Redeye with a host of heavy-duty upgrades, including a reinforced ZF 8-speed automatic transmission, engineered to withstand the immense output of the supercharged HEMI. A limited-slip differential helps put that power to pavement, while 4-piston Brembo brakes, 41-spline heavy-duty half-shafts, and a fixed-rate Bilstein suspension provide the control necessary to manage the Redeye's extraordinary capabilities.

The Redeye also benefits from Torque Reserve, which builds boost pressure before launch for explosive acceleration, as well as the innovative SRT Power Chiller and After-Run Chiller, systems designed to reduce intake-air temperatures and maximize driving consistency. Dodge’s Launch Assist technology optimizes traction during acceleration runs, and the factory line-lock feature allows drivers to perform controlled burnouts to warm and clean the rear tires before full-throttle launches. Equipped with the desirable Performance Plus Package, the Hellcat Redeye is further improved by 20 x 11-inch low-gloss black forged aluminum wheels wrapped in Pirelli P Zero tires, enhancing both grip and visual presence.

The Redeye’s exterior remains faithful to the already-iconic Challenger design. Dodge wisely resisted the temptation to abandon the car's retro-inspired proportions, refining a shape that recalls the late 1960s and early 1970s. Finished in White Knuckle Clearcoat, the Redeye's black grille, satin-black rear spoiler, and distinctive wheel designs subtly distinguish it while preserving the Challenger’s timeless appeal. Inside, modern amenities such as an 8.4-inch touchscreen with 4G LTE Wi-Fi, dual-zone automatic climate control, aluminum-trim accents, and information displays blend contemporary comfort with classic character.

The great muscle cars of the past offered astonishing power but often lacked the controlled braking and reliability necessary to fully exploit their potential. The Redeye preserves the drama, character, and visceral excitement of those legends while correcting their shortcomings through contemporary engineering and technology. force, and unrestrained horsepower with a personality largely absent from modern American muscle cars.

As the newest and most powerful Challenger in this collection, following the 2008 Mr. Norm's GSS Super Challenger, 2009 Dodge Challenger Hurst, 2016 Challenger Hellcat, and the 2018 Challenger SRT Demon, the 2019 Hellcat Redeye represents the pinnacle of the model’s evolution. Challenger production ended in 2023 as Dodge shifted toward an electrified focus with the eighth generation Charger.
